چکیده

We determine the CKM matrix element |Vcb| using a sample of 3.33 million BB̄ events in the CLEO detector at CESR. We determine the yield of reconstructed B → D∗+lν decays as a function of w = vB · vD∗ , and from this we obtain the differential decay rate dΓ/dw. By extrapolating dΓ/dw to w = 1, the kinematic point at which the D is at rest relative to the B, we extract the product |Vcb|F (1), where F (1) is the form factor at w = 1 and is predicted accurately by theory. We find F (1)|Vcb| = 0.0424±0.0018(stat.)±0.0019(syst.). We also integrate the differential decay rate over w to obtain B(B → D∗+lν) = (5.66 ± 0.29 ± 0.33)%. All results are preliminary. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . New DELPHI Results from Semileptonic b, c Decays

The value of the |Vcb| element in the CKM quark mixing matrix was computed from the differential decay width of the process B → D∗+l−ν, measured as a function of the product ω of the B and D∗ 4-velocities, using an inclusive method of D∗ reconstruction: |Vcb| = 41.70 ± 2.35(exp.)± 1.38(th.) × 10−3 A measurement of the ratio |Vub| |Vcb| has been obtained by using the reconstructed secondary hadr...

CLNS 01/1773 CLEO 01-26 Improved Measurement of |Vcb | Using ¯ B → D ∗ ℓν Decays

We determine the weak coupling |Vcb| between the b and c quarks using a sample of 3 million BB̄ events in the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. We determine the yield of reconstructed B̄ → D∗lν decays as a function of w, the boost of the D∗ in the B rest frame, and from this we obtain the differential decay rate dΓ/dw. By extrapolating dΓ/dw to w = 1, the kinematic end-point at ...

Two-loop QCD corrections to semileptonic b decays at an intermediate recoil

We present complete O(αs) corrections to the decay b → clνl at the point where the invariant mass of the leptons √ q2 equals the c quark mass. We use this result, together with previously obtained corrections at the ends of the q2 spectrum, to estimate the total width of the semileptonic b → c decay with O(αs) accuracy, essential for the |Vcb| determination. Precise determination of the Cabibbo...

ℓν Form Factor at Zero Recoil from Three-flavor Lattice Qcd: a Model Independent Determination of |v Cb |

We present the first lattice QCD calculation of the form factor for B → D∗lν with three flavors of sea quarks. We use an improved staggered action for the light valence and sea quarks (the MILC configurations), and the Fermilab action for the heavy quarks. The form factor is computed at zero recoil using a new double ratio method that yields the form factor more directly than the previous Fermi...
